Siargao Island : The Surfing Capital of the Philippines

The best-known surfing roller on Siargao with a worldwide reputation for thick, hollow tubes is "Cloud 9". This right-breaking ridge wave is the site of the annual Siargao Cup, a domestic and international surfing competition sponsored by the provincial government of Surigao del Norte.

The wave of Siargao is cyclic with tidal curves typically present especially on the east shore of the island.

It is the Surfing Capital of the Philippines.

how to get there?

Get to Manila or Cebu, then either go straight to Siargao Island or Surigao (which is slightly cheaper but takes a lot longer). If you take the Surigao option, you will need to get a boat from Surigao to Siargao. Once you land in Dapa, the main port of Siargao, the trip to Cloud Nine can be made by either public jeepney, motorbike, or private van. Motorbike should be 150Php.
It’s a tight connection to make the last ferry that departs Surigao pier at 12 noon to Siargao island so if you miss the boat you will either have to stay overnight in Surigao or we can assist with organising a private pump boat to bring you to the island.

There is also the overnight boat option from Cebu to Surigao City with Cokaliong Shipping Lines.

The ferry departs Cebu at 7pm daily except for Sundays. From Surigao City to Cebu there is no ferry on Mondays.

From Dapa (Siargao boat port)

Van transfer from Dapa pier on Siargao to Cloud Nine takes about 30 minutes.
Tricycle takes about 40 mins and costs about 150 – 200PHP, very bumpy ride after GL!
Motorbike takes about 35 mins and should cost around 140PHP.
